SPECTRUM entered the Turnkey Military
Family Housing Design/Build Program
in 1979 with a project at Fort Ord,
California. Since then, we have
designed approximately 26,500 units
of housing in 78 projects at 126 sites
in 18 states and Cuba. The projects
ranged in size from 50 units to 3500
units. Our current award to
proposal submission ratio exceeds 60
percent.
Our award winning
design experience includes 705 factory-built
units within three projects constructed
at Adak, Alaska, and Fort Irwin, California. An
Award of Merit by the Pacific Coast
Builders Conference was given for the
project at Adak. Spectrum received
the coveted Department of Defense Award
for Family Housing Design for a 600-unit
project at Camp Pendleton, California,
and the NAVFAC Design Excellence Award
for a project of 300 units at Alameda,
California.
Spectrum received the Naval
Certificate of Appreciation for the
unique design of 244 housing units
at La Mesa, California in a difficult
terrain. This
award included commendation for excellence
at two other sites: 383 housing
units and two Community Centers at
Camp Pendleton, and 33 housing units
at Bridgeport, California.
In
1999, Spectrum began producing winning
designs for the new military housing
privatization projects. We
have designed 12 projects on 42 sites,
totaling over 10,000 housing units
in eight states. This work is
in addition to our design of ongoing
military family housing projects.
The
firm has distinguished itself as an
innovative problem solver in the design
arena with expertise provided by staff
in single/multi-family housing, low
rise office/retail developments, church
facilities and commercial projects.
